This Is Not a TV. It’s Our New 4K Laser Projector (and a Big Discount!)
Amber Stefanson | Aug 30, 2023
Every time you upgrade the screen for your media room, you’re presented with a choice: “Should I choose a TV or a projector?”
And while most will go for a TV for higher contrast, the price per square inch is much higher — up to $16k for a 100” screen!
If you want that kind of huge, cinematic screen, TVs might not be the best choice anymore. This week, we’re dropping something big that might just change your mind about TVs forever.
We envisioned a projector that can bring that same high-contrast, larger-than-life experience to home theater enthusiasts — at a much more accessible price. Last year, we met this goal with the Aurora, a 4K laser projector that stretches up to 150 inches across. But we knew we could do better.
This is the Aurora Pro.
Introducing the new Aurora Pro. Like its predecessor, the Aurora Pro can cast a screen of up to 150” in striking 4K.
But the magic is in its tri-color laser light source, Which uses ALPD 4.0 (Advanced Laser Phosphor Display), a state-of-the-art laser imaging technology that can reproduce significantly more colors than any projector that came before it.
Tri-Color Laser Color & Brightness
The Aurora Pro features three lasers to cover an incredible spectrum of color: 107% of the BT.2020 color gamut.

This means it can create more vibrant, more lifelike, and more immersive images than ever before. And with 2400 ANSI Lumens, this projector always looks its best, day or night.
4K Resolution, 120fps
The Aurora Pro boasts 4K resolution enhanced by Dolby Vision. All this in 120fps with MEMC to eliminate motion blur in action-packed content, making it perfect for video games or live sports.
Vivid colors, zero motion blur
It’s also 3D compatible, so you can enjoy movies IMAX-style when you use active shutter 3D glasses. We’re going to be selling some 3D glasses to go with it, but you’ll find that the Aurora Pro interfaces beautifully with most active shutter lenses, since you can choose between several 3D movie formats, including frame packing, frame sequential, left/right, and top/bottom.
Additionally, the Aurora Pro comes with 4 built-in speakers: two 15W woofers and two 15W tweeters. These speakers are compatible with both Dolby Atmos surround sound and HDMI ARC.
Big Savings on Kickstarter
For a limited time you can get a steep 45% discount on the Aurora Pro when you preorder through Kickstarter. With your help, we can speed up the process of getting our projectors into mass production and distribution — and into your home that much quicker.
If you’re lucky enough to snag the super early bird deal, your projector will ship with two FREE pairs of 3D glasses — plus you’ll get an extra $100 USD off the price tag! If you miss the deal, no worries; you can still bundle the Aurora Pro with 3D glasses for a small surcharge.
You can also choose to bundle the Aurora Pro with our Fresnel Screen or one of our Motorized Trays. These add-ons offer massive improvements to your movie-watching experience. Let’s go over what you can expect from these accessories so you can figure out if they’re right for you.
Fresnel screens are the most advanced type of projector screen yet. They reject ambient light so that you can use your projector during the day, even with the lights on.
Fresnel screen from straight on
This Fresnel screen may look gray from a distance, but if you take a closer look you’ll see that the prismatic surface pointed down towards the projector is a pale silver, while all other surfaces are black.
Pale silver surface points down
Black surface points up and out
The black surface absorbs the light, rather than reflecting it. As a result, you’ll get an image that isn’t affected by ambient light coming from the ceiling or window.
Meanwhile, the pale silver surface is super reflective. The angle of this reflective surface is optimized for the throw ratio of the Aurora Pro. When the light from the projector beams upward, it strikes the prismatic surface and reflects back towards the viewer.
The final image will be more vibrant with higher contrast and zero glare.
Fresnel screen in use
You can also choose to bundle your projector with one of our motorized trays. They’re perfect for when you want that 150” screen, but you can’t store your projector a full 18 inches away from the wall.
You can easily adjust the screen by pressing the buttons in the back. Both of our motorized strays enable you to adjust the size of the screen by moving the tray back and forth. Our full-motion ascending tray also enables you to adjust the height of the screen by moving the projector up and down.
These trays are designed to intuitively fit into your routine. They’ll close when you turn your projector off. When you power your projector on again, they’ll remember their most recent position and move back into place.
Both of our motorized trays come with all the hardware you need to mount them to your wall or cupboards. This makes them the perfect space-saving accessory for anyone who doesn’t have table space for their projector.
Essentially, these trays are an adapter to make your projector fit in your living space when you don’t have the ideal setup.
While this projector will be sold on our website and Amazon storefront this autumn, we’re offering it at a steep discount on Kickstarter for a limited time. You can preorder it here starting August 31st. Our Kickstarter will only be live for one month with limited quantities available at our best price. You won’t want to miss your chance to snag this amazing deal!
Take the leap and ditch the TV. We promise that this projector will transform your movie-watching experience in a way that no TV ever could. We ship on Kickstarter to the US, Canada, Singapore, Hong Kong, and all countries within the EU and UK.
