CES 2022: what will we see this year?
Every year one of the biggest tech events in the world comes to none other than the infamous Las Vegas. With its first show in 1967, CES has made an impact in the technology industry as thousands of companies showcase their latest and greatest. In this three day event, there are over 40 categories ranging from space technology to sustainability to food technology. Yeah, you read that right. You can see and experience inventions that have made a huge impact on careers and daily life, and even some...a little on the more unrealistic side (but very interesting ideas). CES includes the very best companies that use technology to their greatest advantage in helping make life easier, safer, more convenient, and in many cases, more fun. We can't cover everything, but here are some things you might see this year.
AI, or artificial intelligence (for those that live under a rock), has become the forefront in many new products over the past few years. AI has changed the way businesses and individuals perform. With artificial intelligence, doctors have been able to treat patients with more efficiency. From voice recognition, complex problem-solving, to performing human-like tasks. An AI pastry scanner that was designed to identify different pastries inspired a doctor to use the same technologies the pastry scanner had but to identify and detect cancerous cells.
When the latest phone comes out, what’s the first thing we do? We upgrade, of course. And there are three things we might do with our old devices: 1) Turn them in to receive money towards our next phone, 2) Throw them in a drawer in our homes and forget about them, or 3) Toss them in the trash (after deleting all our embarrassing content, duh). Some companies are making a stand to create a more sustainable purpose for your old devices. Like transforming them into child or pet monitors and more.
If you thought technology couldn’t advance more drastically than it already has, then maybe you haven’t heard of a new space habitat that is designed for people to stay for long periods of time. Oh, and it’s inflatable! Oh, and it’s equipped to grow fresh food!
